I am running Samba ver 3.0.33 on Solaris 10 (sparc) as a PDC with LDAP
for the backend for both samba and unix accounts.
I have also set up a trust with an Windows domain- lets call it

mixed mode for backwards compat.) The SAMBA
Apparently I forgot to restart samba after making the backend change.
Also, the pdbedit command did not import samba info for all accounts.
Which means that after I restarted samba some people (and machines)
could not login. However, I could use "pdbedit -Lv" and "pbedit -Lw"

Hello! I saw there is a lot of people with the same problem that mine,
but they are using recent versions of samba.
I am using 3.0.33 in a CentOS 5.3 server wich is supposed to be realy
stable and tested.
At server side, machine trust account gets renamed both in /etc/passwd
and in samba database
I posted a similar message on the freeradius list a few months ago and it
was suggested I come here. Now that this effort is once again underway I am
looking for some assistance.

I tried the NT4 Domain User Manager, but there I can only enter up to eight

Hello List.
We have a number of working ADS servers. One of out clients is not in the

for enabling NIS authentication I have decided to use the smbpasswd. Now I

After I mapped a local group to a domain group, I'm not longer able
edit it with 'net sam'.
Is there another tool I should use? How do I add users on other
computers, in the domain to the group?
I don't see a tool on a client station for allowing editing of
domain groups??
