Backendwise, it has to be local, we don't have any write permission to AD or
LDAP.
If I do: wbinfo -n knixon, I get the ssid back. Taking it to the next level

wbinfo -S `wbinfo -n knixon` gets me:
Could not convert sid S-1-5-21-1606980848-1644491937-839522115-152478 to uid

Hi,
I am building a NAS that only has a couple of SATA disks attached (no USB, no
CD/DVD, no NFS, no ...). Since the available space for the rootfs is limited
(only 8 MB), I'd like to omit libiconv because this library takes 875 Kbytes.
The filesystem on the disks will be ext3. UClibc is built wi

Hi all,
I think I have found some issue in samba packed with Debian.

Upon further testing I find that the passwd and group info for the
trusted domain get cached once, and one time only. When the cache
expires, "getent passwd" and "getent group" no longer return users
from the trusted domain.
By default, "idmap cache time=900" (15 min.) If I increased this to

Hello everybody,
I was playing around a few days with getting a samba PDC up with support for
windows 7 Clients.
I got it working, the clients can connect to the PDC and login.
I've tested Roaming profiles and local profiles everything seems to work
like charm.
But there is one more Problem I c
Hi,
the desktop.ini issue can't be solved by samba. That's because the contents of
the "Start Menu" are located in different places, like within your Windows
profile (roaming) and the "All Users" profile (local). Because the latter is
located on your PC, there's no way for samba to interfere.
Ok, it was a shot in the dark since there was no smb.conf included.
