Hi!
Here's comparison of net ads join output, between my first build of
samba 3.5.4 that gave pkcs 11 error and second build, that is failing
with rpc: Logon failure. Can anyone comment on differences. I'm
starting to think, that the diff -u output say's that 2nd build is
failing sooner than
Hi,
I'am afraid this is a general issue with Winbind. I am experiencing the same
problems and my logs look quite similar to Henrik's logs. I am using Samba
3.5.4 and tried to resolve this issue without luck. In fact I have a working
lab environment with Winbind 3.5.4, AD based on Windows
Hello,
I posted my problem of clients loosing their domain membership a couple
of days ago. I now could track it down to a problem with machine
password changes in the domain. When a client changes its machine
account password, it loses domain connection afterwards, i.e. 'net rpc
testjoin' gives
Hello,
I'm using the Samba server 3.0.33 that exports volume from a GPFS. The GPFS
strongly dislikes unlinking files that are locked (resulting in permission
denied) using fcntl F_SETLEASE.
It seems that the Samba *sometimes* tries to unlink a file that is oplocked.
Why? Is this a bug? Why it
I'm in a 2k8 r2 domain with SFU and home shells managed through the ADUC
console. I'm using Samba/WInbind and use samba shares as user home
directories that are mounted at login-time on Windows 7 machines.
This is a first attempt as we migrated to Windows 2k8r2 in order to have
better support

Hi,
thanks for pointing me into the right direction!
I corrected the missing DHCP/WINS settings and now I can log in to the
XP client.
But now I do get a message, that the server profile can't be found and
the users home share is not connected to.
As fas as I can see, the paths are there and

Hi Michael,
which version of Samba do you have?
Are you able to post your Samba configuration?
Thank you.

In all honesty, this is my first time using a binary samba package (I am a

Hello all.
I have a Samba 3.5.4 server that we're attempting to join to an existing
Windows 2008 ADS.
Doing net ads join seems to go ok, and a follow up net -P ads testjoin says
we're OK.
However... at this point, doing wbinfo -u or wbinfo -g returns no data (the
programs exit with erro code

If you have simple requirements, then you may want to stick with the Sun

These will support
Domain controller configuration

ZFS support
nsswitch support with winbind
It won't support

Ah, I'm a Slackware user myself (and I still do sometimes use their binaries
for samba when I don't need AD support). I'm not sure if the Fedora package is
compiled with AD support, but an ldd `which smbd` will answer that question.
You do have the proper options that I mentioned enabled, so
I'm trying to sync the local unix account passwords to the samba
smbpass db using pam. When i run passwd, after it's done it seg faults
and produces a core dump. The odd thing is that it works, the users
local unix password gets synced to the smbpass db, but it seg faults.
