Hi,
if i recall it correct, there was someone a few month?/years? ago (don't know
how long exactly),
having a similar problem with a rebooting client on logon.
I think it turned out to be a problem of the windows-machine, some very crude
combination
of bugs.

Hi,
What you are trying *is NOT POSSIBLE with smbf*
smbfs does not support to get the remote-users from the windows-machine.
it maps each and every file to be owned by the user doing the mount,
if not otherwise instructed.
see 'man smbmount' for more infos on this.
have a nice day.

Hm,
it might be a problem of the outputdrivers of your application.
What happens if you try to save these formats to the harddrive of another
computer over your network? (one not running samba)
Do you get the same errors?

Hi,
your printers section is ambiguous
guest ok and public are two names for ONE flag,
so setting
public=yes
and afterwards
guest ok=no
makes your printers unacessible to evryone except authenticated users...
"man smb.conf"
is your friend in this situation... ;-)

Ups, forgot something:
with the script in /var/samba/netlogon and named like the user,
in smb.conf you need this:
[global]
.
#this path is relative to the root of the netlogon-share
logon script = %U.bat
.
[netlogon]
path= /var/samba/netlogon

Hi all, the share, subdirs and script have to be readable and executable
to the "guest" user.
The netlogon-share gets mapped by guest, not the user.
Then windows looks for the logonscript in there and if it can execute it
as guest.

I never had any problems moving large files around using w98/W2k/XP

Hi,
AFAIK this is a problem of the older samba 3.x versions,
If i recall it right, it was fix somewhere around version 3.0.14.
at least the actual version does not suffer from it anymore.
The only clean solution is to upgrade your sambaversion, but beware
there habe been some big changes since 3.
Hi,
jep, this is all normal.
Create mask is a mask for *file* creation, it masks out the bits
not specified. So setting it to 770 forces your *files* to get
never more rights then rwxrwx--- .
What you want is the line
force create mode 770
to force the mode of your *files* to 0770 at least.

i'm not shure if this still applys to 3.0b3 but in

In order to compile samba with ADS support, you need to have installed

Hi,
this is not samba related, yust ignore it for now.
