When I compiled 2.2.8a cups support was not compiled in even though I specifically specified it and there were no errors. If you type 'ldd /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd' you can see what libraries are linked against it and cups should be there. Make sure you have the cups-devel RPM package installed ot
