Interesting idea, but that would mean that all users would have access
to the script and could see what others we
Hi,
RH7.3, Samba 2.2.8a, Win2KSP4 clients...
I was just wondering,
I know I can have a logon script based on a machine name, on a group, a
username, etc., but am I able to actually have a combination of the
above?
I would like to have a standard group logon script (which I currently do
have),

Hi list members.
There probably isn't an answer for this, but just in case there is...
I have samba running as a PDC (Samba 2.2.8a, RH7.3, Win2k clients). On
one of the Win2k Clients (one I use for admin work), I have apache2 and
Perl. One of my CGI-BIN scripts uses perl to do some web pages (not
Hi,
On our (now replaced) Win2k PDC, the logon script run form netlogon
would have to finish before the user would continue to log on.
This doesn't seem to be the case for my samba PDC (2.2.8a, RH7.3, Win2k
Clients).
To questions...
1:Is this normal to not wait for the script to finish, or hav
Hi,
Thanks so far...
The problem I'm having is not rotating the logs, but rather looking at
the logs and determining what is the person logging onto, and logging
off of the domain. I currently am set at log level 2.

Hi,
I all of a sudden require to log who has been login onto our domain, and
from which machine.
Looking through the logs I do have, I don't seem to have this
information for more than a day, even in the log..old file.
How can I change this ASAP?

Hi,... RH7.3, Samba 2.2.8a PDC, Win2K Clients...
If somebody saves a file on their desktop, or if it gets into recent

this document has weird (Chinese maybe) characters in it, then next time
they try to load their profile, Wi

Hi,
Samba 2.2.8a, RH7.3, network of Win2K machines with roaming profiles
The roaming profiles don't seem to copy all of the files under
c:\Docu...\username\*
One of the folders it doesn't copy is the (hidden) folder 'Local
Settings'.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi,
I have recently changed from a Win2K server to a Samba 2.2.8 server.
Well on some of our machines we are unable to change the background
image for win2K, while on others you can (yep, boxes are probably
configured differently).
If you change it on one of the boxes which can change it, it is

Hi,
I was wanting to know how to have profiles removed form Win2k Machines
after they have logged off.
Not sure if I have already asked this here, or just looked for the
answer in the archives, either way I still don't know the answer :(
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
My Win2k Box has ended up with more than one version of a users profile,
they are named username.DOMAIN.001 (and the others are .002, .003 etc.)
How can I stop it from doing this, as MS Outlook XP is throwing a fit as
it has (for some really dumb reason) set its file locations to the
