I recently installed Mandrake 8.1. It has the rpm package
sane-backends-1.05. I have a Microtek V6USL attached to a aic7xxx SCSI
card. The scanner is present in the bootup, when you run cdrecord
-scanbus and in harddrake. The program find-scanner says there is no
scanner. When I was running Ma
I've just installed sane with the mustek_pp backend.
I had no /dev/scanner entry in my /dev directory therefore, after much
scrabbling around and guessing, I created a symbolic link from /dev/lp0 to
/dev/scanner.
I chose /dev/lp0 as this is the entry in /etc/printcap that equates to
the lp
