From what I have had a chance to read about reverse engineering
in U.S. it would appear that this type of reverse engineering
should be considered legal.
It is covered under fair use clause.

I had this all working in Fedora core 3, but do not seem to be able to
find the magic for Fedora core 4. I have an HP Officejet 7310xi all in
one unit. I'm able to print and copy from camera memory cards over the
network and using usb. Scanning is not working though. Platform is an
athelon 64 bit s
