Great! Thank you. But you should not write "Scannertasen" in the
headline :-)

I have sent now the report to mtek-bugs at mir.com.
Thank you for your help!

I have switched the debugging on for sanei_scsi and microtek.
I guess there might be a problem with the commands that are sent to the device.
Suggestions highly appreciated.

I think this is an improvement. Yet, the scanner device has just this strange
number, and
scanimage -L still states that no scanners were identified.
Any idea how to fix this?

Below are the outputs of sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L.

result was readable only in some pdf-readers, in others not.
Today, I updated to xsane0.996 and can *not* reproduce this problem.
You should test with xsane0.996.

Done!
I hit CTRL-C in the first second after bad motor noise, but the
noise ended after 1/2 min and the prompt is back also after 1/2
min.
Therefore, in the next test, I made a copy in the bad moment:
cp scan.log scan.copy
then, I hit CTRL-C.
I send both files direct to you.

Odd, the snoop-log grew while the mouse was moving, but not while

Sorry, Stef, I'm a stupid Suse10.3 user and install normally only
rpm. I'm still working with sane-backends1.0.19-0-pm.2 genesys.
If I should install a new CVS, then I would need instruction.

*low* resolution and black/white for low data rate,
then the scanner head starts to shake and does not move properly!
All things are independent from the front-end and I have done tests
with Kooka, Xsane and Xscanimage.
Any ideas?

I need to plug it into a Windows computer. If
it is then connected to my Linux box again, it is detected as an 'Acer
FlatbedScanner_21', and it works perfectly again.
What on earth can I do to make sure that the scanner is *always*
detected as an 'Acer FlatbedScanner_21' by Linux, even if it (the
scanner) is powered off or unplugged? I do not always have a Windows
computer nearby to 'reset' it. Is this behaviour a bug in sane or snapscan?
Thank you for your time!

shall there be any "test-picture" scanned or is equal which picture is

also which dpi should i scan?
i hope that someone is able to write a backend cause i'm not a C

forward.

some things i can do later on alone..)

Hi,
I'm new to this list.
Got a Scanner MD41985 (Medion), which seems to be possibly a Plustek OEM
product. The Software driver for Win$ is: Slim U2 TA
Is anybody going to work on linux support for this product?
