Al- you would need to get a USB sniffer log of the machine making a low resolution scan of a small area, and send a compressed copy of that log to this list. Someone here (Gernot, Nicolas) should be able to quickly determine if it uses the same protocol. http://www.pcausa.com/Utilities/UsbSnoop/

I tried it after installing ubuntu and xsane. It didn't work. Although sane-find-scanner returned found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x1908 [CanoScan]) at libusb:001:004 I was able only to use scanner with VM VirtualBox with Windows XP and scanner drivers installed. I am now downl
