That is a scary thought, schools knocking out PE from their curricula. My
niece hadn't had to take PE since the sixth grade, and is now worn out daily
because it's not only mandatory at her new school, but intramurals as well.
She was just placed on the volleyball team.

I agree on that. That's more of a corporations running amok thing. I think
they got the idea after the copyright laws were extended. At first it was
for the families of the artist, but I'm sure some smart person in a
company realized that if they lengthened the copyright they could keep
making
That's the problem with guys like that. They are so insecure that they need
to have complete and total control. They feel threatened by anyone that may
upset their little kingdom.

PE and art are the first to go when they do budget cuts in schools. That has
been a reality in California for the last 10 years. (they were even cutting
it during the .com years!) Every year there are debates about it in the
budget. So some school districts still have PE and some do not. What
I mentioned Samurai on History Channel at 8 pm EST (Martin, it reruns at
midnight). But there are a couple other things worth checking out tonight.
First, Turner Classics is doing the second of its three Tuesday night Akira
Kurosawa marathons. Movies run from 8 pm EST until around 7 or 8
