I am having this strange problem under Linux: setting tabbar.multiline=1
doesn't make the tabbar shown in multiple lines, so as the number of
opened files grows, some of the file tabs become invisible from the
tabbar. The same settings on Windows works. I'm using the latest CVS
build of SciTE.
An

makes the text selected invisible. What might be the cause then?

Hi, all
This same message was sent to the list several days ago but it seems to have
disappeared without warning. So I send it once again.
I am testing some new lexer codes with SciTE. In doing this I often need to use
the menuitem "toggle all folds". It would be nice to be able to add a user
add a user
defined shortcut for built-in menu items like"toggle all folds". Is it possible
to do that?

I'am also having this question. When caret.line.back was now set, this was not
noticed at all. But if caret.line.back is other than white, the brace back
color is a little odd and unlovely. Any clues?

Hi,
I know that tabs can be closed on middle click in SciTE, but on laptops it is
much easier to use left double click. I located in SciTEWin.cxx the following
piece of code:
case WM_PARENTNOTIFY:
if (LOWORD(wParam) == WM_MBUTTONDOWN) {
// Check if on tab bar
Point pt = P

You can already change the name of the localisation file by setting
the locale.properties property. This has
locale.properties file. For this reason two new
properties entry is added:
tray.menu.restore =
tray.menu.quit =
these can be set in any of the properties files except in locale.properties
--- has to be changed later.

Thanks Mitchell.
Should
229 if (extensions[i]->OnUserListSelection(listType, selection))
be
229 if (extensions[i]->OnKey(keyval, modifiers))
? Becourse the former does not make use of modifiers. Cheers

Hi, Mitchell,
Thank you very much for the reply.

I'm afraid I do not quite understand the above statements. Does it mean that
something has
s far configured. Also, the
FileBrowser.lua from SciTE-tools does not work while openning folders of depth
>2 (relative to the root folder). I'm wondering whether this strange behavior
is due to the change of Lua language from 5.0 to 5.1 or due to the different
implementation of OnKey

SciTE" items.

Hi Mitchell,
I confirm that the PLATFORM is set correctly. After downloading the new svn
file_browser.lua, I edited it with SciTE and changed the 29-th line into this:
local PLATFORM = 'windows' -- _G.PLATFORM or 'linux'
Saving and replacing with it the original file_browser.lua, the splash bla
translation");
But this causes a compiling error saying that cannot change type const char*
into SString. I am not good at C programming and cannot figure out how this
conversion can be done. Any hints/suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

More problems:
On windows, the shortcuts caf+d doesn't work as expected. With the working
version on windows (the one which "breaks linux" which Mitchell mentioned) and
placing the cursor behind the name of any folder, caf+d produces 'Can't stats
directory'. I guess this was the intended effect
require 'key_commands_linux.lu'
elseif PLATFORM 'windows' then
require /key_commands_windows.lu'
end

After a whole day's trail & check I finally arrive at a solution: it is
Mitchell's first solution, rather than the second -- changing in the return
of get_abs_path but not in scite.Open seems to have resolved all the
problem. Maybe Mitchell should update the svn again :).

Hi, Mitchell,
You're very helpful, thanks a lot. Using scite.Open( string.sub(abs_path, 2,
-2) ) seems to have solved half of my problem, i.e. open files in the top level
folder. But the problem of openning subfolders is left intact.
Maybe I should describe the problem in more detail. In a fr
he above case. I cannot figure out where the "'c:\scite" prefix comes from in
the error message, and cannot find any references to scite.Open in the source
code of scite and Scintilla either. Any clues?

The SciTE-tools project looks very appealing, thanks. But I have several
lexers of my own and compiling these into the source provided at the
SciTE-tools svn does not yield the same effect as they were in the official
SciTE/Scintilla source. This happens, e.g. with TeX command

Writing a new lexer is not that difficult as it first sounds to be. You need
to be well acquinted with the language you kept in mind, especially the set
of keywords to be highlighted and structuring blocks to be fold. Then clone
the lexer code for one of the language and make your own changes , pa
I use SciTE a lot to do normal LaTeX editing. For ease with compile/display
etc many commands related to LaTeX are defined in the properties file.
However, there are too many of them and clicking on the tools menu pops a
column of menu command lists which takes longer than the height of the
