Hey All, On the hunt for old hardware again - for a project I'm doing. My old 3com card is dead, and it also seems my Xircom Parallel-to-RJ45 transceiver is dead too. What a blow. If anyone out there has an old 8 bit ISA network card that I can fairly easily get working with MS-DOS (eg, Packet D

Hi , I wouldn't discount IBM totally - the plant in Greenock is still open AFAIK, it just works on a far smaller scale. They have tons of office space, some rented out, some just lying bare (great use for a function). They make bladeservers and such out there currently and have a call

Claudio- The 8088 was the 16 bit chip, indeed, but it had an 8 bit adress bus. The 8086 was superior to the '88 because it was a true 16bit cpu, incorporating a 16bit address bus. The 8087 complements it to provide real (floating point) calculations. I'm showing my love for all things
