NAI has officially put the technology into "maintenance mode" which means no
more development will occur on the pieces McAfee didn't acquire. They did
attempt to sell the technology not taken by McAfee but were unsuccessful. I
believe this means that we can assume that the commercial venture tha

That is correct. Nor will there be a commercial version of PGP that works
properly with XP anytime soon. NAI has put the product into maintenance
mode and will do no further development on it. It's also not for sale at
the moment so there won't be a PGP version that works with XP in the

Rather than trying to block a large number of ports I would recommend
blocking everything and opening only what is necessary for your site to use.
It's much easier to define the small number of ports you'll need to have
open and IMHO it's much better practice to deny everything that is not
PGP Corporate Desktop does support key recovery. However, you can not
recover keys that have not been created with the reconstruction option.
Essentially that entails an Administrator creating a PGP install with the
PGP Admin tool that allows/forces the user to utilize the reconstruction
options
