Agree, use the computer or machine profiles to speify in the active
directory OU. U have to speficiy / remove little box that said remove icon
network neighborhood from desktop.

You have to do that through the Group Policies
I believe the best way to do this is to use the Policy Editor to create a
policy for the users (or the group of users) that restricts browsing from
Network Neighborhood. The suggestions below work great for a couple of
machines, but in a high school environment where it is theoretically
possible
