Ah! Just after I sent this email I finally found the distribution.
It was under server/karaf/distribution/target
I propose that the info on the web page is updated accordingly.
And it would be nice for newcomers to have clear instructions how to build.
Eg.
cd james-project
mvn package
I build james according to instructions from
http://james.apache.org/server/3/dev-build.html
My command is: mvn package -Pwith-assembly -DskipTests
But I can not find the distribution.
Under server/container/spring/target there is only
james-server-spring-3.0.0-beta5-SNAPSHOT.jar
that contains
Hi,
I can't reproduce the error you've encountered.
I have used the following commands:
$ git clone http://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/james-project.git
$ cd james-project
$ docker build -t james/project dockerfiles/compilation/java-8
$ docker run -v $PWD/.m2:/root/.m2 -v $PWD:/origin -v
I figured out that revision 1704162 is the last revision that works
here; all following revisions fail with this mailbox adapter error
(didn't try with the git repository, yet).

Spent a lot of time unsuccessfully trying to build 3.0-beta4,
3.0-beta3, trunk etc. I finally found the hint for the linagora git
repository in the mailing list archive (just wondering, why the
homepage references 3.0-beta4 for building altough it seems to be
known for quite some time
I suppose you have downloaded and compiled
the apache-james-3.0-beta4-source-release.zip [1] from the download page
[2]. It includes just a maven module (server/app) which bring together
other james modules and assembles them into a bundle which can be run
out-of-the-box.
After running `mvn
I might be missing something obvious, if so, please forgive my ignorance. I
have checked out the Beta 4 release sources and gotten the build to work
from the parent project directory. I have also downloaded the the binary.
How does one go from the source build to the binary release. There is a

lower size.
I was planning to recreate those large images when there will be less changes.
We could apply your script with imagemagik (btw I like it, especially combined
with JMagick) when it's done.

I think a JavaScript viewer integrated with the site build system will be
great.

Subject: RE: Problems building James 3.0a1
Hi,I'm in need to try out the mail properties features.
I don't know which is the minimun release version to support
them, so I've checked
There is not yet a release containing mail attributes: right now it is available
only from CVS.
P.S.= I used smartCVS to check out and used james-server as
module name; doing so I obtain a build that creates a james-3-0a1
directory under dist.
In james-server you need to point to the
I've dowloaded 2.2.0a8 today
and it does not have attributes
That's because we are still pulling together the next test build. You'll
have to build from CVS is you need to test that brand new set of changes.

Delete everything and start over. There is no check-target.ent in the v2
build. That is only in the James v3 (main) trunk.
