Hi Eric.
I've been trying to download the latest source files from the SVN repository
into Eclipse - following the directions in your emails to Mohammed and the
updated dev-build.html
In the last illustration there are a number of folders which my svn checkout
did not create on my local hard d
wall?

An attempt to retrieve a schema file uses only the http protocol which no
firewall would ever block.
When the firewall is up, can you browse to other web pages ?
Does the schema display in your browser if you paste the schema URL into your
browser and try to read the file ?

Hi Mohammed.
You used the DataSource driver (used in J2EE environments) instead of the
stand-alone JDBC driver.
In your database.properties use
database.driverClassName=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

Hi Eric.
I don't know the answer but I suspect that you need to specify whether you
are running on Unix or Windows ...
Just a suggestion to save time.
It would be a good idea if Eric added a longer or more explicit description
of the memory requirements on each platform to his quickstart d
what may be causing the address error for a james userid
that is clearly in existance. Any ideas where I should look ?
I've attached a zip file with my CONF files in case you can see the error right
away.
Thanks

Hello Eric.
Your November 8 Quickstart notes did not provide any instructions for
Microsoft Windows users.
In the attached PDF and text files, I suggest some added text for those
folks. The PDF file shows the additions in yellow highlighting.
The text file is the fulltext version of the PDF.
I also encountered this problem and used Eric's solution (commented out
RemoteAddrNotInNetwork in mailetcontainer.xml) because I require AUTH in my
SMTP.
I have still encountered unusual results - connections being refused for
example so I have reverted back to james 2.3.2 temporarily.

Is there a similar document describing how to do so with James 3 ?
Or do I use the same approach ?

I am one of those awaiting true virtual hosting.
I agree that you should enable virtual hosting by default even if only one
example virtual host is configured in the default config set.
I also agree that the default config should have remote delivery enabled.

multi-domain support out-of-the-box.
You can still implement it for 2.3 with a few workarounds described on
http://wiki.apache.org/james/VirtualUserTable.
Coming James 3 support multi-domain out-of-the-box.

Hello.
A short while ago, I installed James 2.3.2 on a Windows 2003
ming emails from the shaw network which is only a small portion
of my email traffic.
In simple terms, I should be able to reconfigure my SMTP port with no effect on

Can anyone suggest an approach to resolving this ?
