I'm using avgate from antivir. it works very well w/ james, it's fast
and is free for non commercial use.
It works as a MTA so it receive all smtp traffic and forward it to
james' back port, in my case smtp changed to smtp+8000

comment on this in general. There are myriads of anti-virus/-worm/-spam
filters in existence for MTAs today. Having used Sendmail, Qmail, MS
Exchange (shudder), Postfix I was discouraged to find a dearth of
options for JAMES in
