Hi Damon,
I believe most of the 1991 turbo auto's had lock up. All the 92's did.
Loose flexplate bolts seem to make a nice rod knock type of clanking
sound as the bolts wallow (sp?) out the hole.
I've heard torque converters on their last leg that had a higher
pitched type of whine as they c
Here might be an easier way to plug the hole.

The threaded hole was from the balance shaft housing, one of the retaining

The 1/4" hardened bolt is a slight press fit, I would say snug but not too
hard. A cheap bolt will be a loose fit so use a quality fastener, seems to make
a difference.
No pan clearance issues, works great.

Ok, so one turbo dodge I've heard of has a locking torque converter.
Mine does not.
Regardless, does anyone have any ideas here? Is my only course of
action to pull the tranny? Is there a way I can look at the flexplate
without pulling the tranny to see if thats the culprit? Is it worth

Hi all, I need some part numbers. I want to just go to NAPA and order these
brand new, but I want to make sure that I don't end up with the wrong
calipers.
I'm looking for part numbers for the proper caliper that goes with the SLH
front upgrade. The big minivan fronts.
Any help is appreaciated.
No. As far as I know, no turbo-dodge automatic tranny has a lock-up
torque converter.

Does the tranny have a lockup torque converter? If so, does the sound go
away when at speed and it locks up? If so, I'd really lean towards it. It
really sounds like tranny internals.

It does it in Drive, 2, 1, and Reverse whether moving or holding the
brake and giving it a little gas.

I'd definately say it's internal to the tranny. I doubt the differential if
it does it when stationary. Also, check things like motor mounts, make
sure the drivetrain isn't moving and something isn't rubbing. Does it do it
in reverse?

That has to be the simplest method I've seen. How tight is the bolt shaft?
And what is the threaded hole for that you put the 'retainer' bolt and
washer in? Does the pan clear it well?

Hey guys,
I've been reading this list for a while but rarely post.
I've got a problem with my turbo mini. Yesterday, during normal
driving, my van starting to make what I can only call a growling
sound. It sounds like something is rubbing up against a gear that is
turning. I limped the van hom
Chris,
OK, here you go. Removing them is just as easy as pulling the oil pan then
just cut the old chain from the balance shaft assembly and follow these
directions for plugging the oil feed hole
