Sincere thanks to all who answered my call for help. Opinion seems to be divided between go ahead and back up. This head has been done before as it has a Pro Force 65 in it now and I don't think Ping would leave a glob of dry epoxy around the insert. The owner isn't worried about the shaft so I

The key is making the "tool out of PVC pipe costs about $1.50 as a coupler 3/4" with one inch OD cemented inside it!  It's a very easy job. The PVC tool will get some heat damage where it contacts the crown but you can sand that off if ugly bothers you. Pre fit the new insert and ignore the lie ang

Send it to Ping. They are a bitch to do. However if you must, there are a couple of things you can try. If you don't need to save the old shaft simply cut it off at the hosel and drill the old one out. That's the easiest method (after sending it to Ping.) Or, if you must save the shaft, pull the g

I have a couple of Callaway BJ Hickory Stick putters. As you probably know, they have a wooden shaft with a steel shaft that runs down the middle of the wooden shaft. What would be the best way to cut it down to the proper size I want? I have a pipe cutter, but it's only going to cut so deep.
