Tom F,
I don't know if you have any golf planned for this trip, but the
northern end of Michigan has many really excellent courses. Right
there in Traverse City, you have a Nicklaus course and one by Tom

Thinking back, I actually had two break. The first broke at the edge weld,
which they replaced. The replacement broke in the middle of the face after
a couple years and they were out of production by then and it was not replaced.

Hi Robert,
Been there, done that, even have the T shirt.
There are many of us that keep an accurate handicap. We play and practice
several time a week. Because of our age, or our ability, we can no longer hit

For an example; I play nearly every Tuesday and Thursday with the same 6 - 8

How is it fair, you ask? Well, here’s how. Our faculty league has an arcane set
of rules, a combination of match and medal. Every year we review the results
and every year we find that the low handicap players have a slight advantage
over the rest. The intention is to equalize the players so tha
I had a Gemini 395 10.5* fail. It doesn't say "I" or "II" so I'd assume

Tedd,
Yes, max scores on a hole is the way we play here in our "old farts" group
of 5-6 foursomes. Depending on the game we are playing (eg: two low net), if
a player is out of a hole anyway, he puts the ball in his pocket and goes to
the next hole. Handicap under 10, he gets a DB, over 10 get

If your playing for money then be a man (just an expression ladies) If you

FYI, "gimmees" or conceded putts/holes are perfectly legal in match play, and
those rounds are required to be posted for handicap purposes. The handicap
system has specific rules for match play and conceded putts/holes, stating that
"the most likely score" is to be posted for any conceded hole.

Maybe he's talking about playing for real money, not funsie stuff among
buddies. If I was playing for real money, I would not trust anyone's handicap

Well, Duh, that's what stroke madness is all about, thanks for saying it.
It allows an 18 to press a 1.
The only thing that seems unfair is the side bets.
