Hi JB, I'd have thought you would have gotten some better ideas by now, but here's a couple. For a temporary 'dulling' of the surface, a fine mist of hair spray (or clear lacquer) works. Photographers use this trick. For a more permanent solution something like bead blasting might do it. Che
