Seems like last meeting I went to was at Spider House at the end of the
spring semester. I think there was only 5-6 of us there. I would be up
for another at the beginning of the fall.
As far as WMs, I still use KDE2.2 for everything except my laptop, on
which I use KDE3, or enlightenment when
I've sold back to Gnome 2.0 w/ Metacity. It seems faster than KDE 3.0
and less complicated by default :) Now if I can just find a solution to
my usual GTK whine - WHY ARE MENUS PADDED SO TALL?
ok, done venting. It bothers me that we need so much resolution for
GUIs. I'd love to be using a be3
KDE 3 here, when doing desktop-ish stuff like web browsing. It looks
nice enough, although I think its much better with the menus stripped
down to only 3 or 4 options.
Is it just me or is anyone else annoyed by the gazillion K* apps that
ship with KDE?
I wonder if there is a way to get a sim
last 'physical' meeting i heard about was at around the end of the spring
semester.
it'd be nice to have one right around when school starts.
(p.s. what wm do you people use? lately i've been switching between kde3 and
fluxbox, still unhappy with both and not liking gnome2 anymore)

LOL, I usually just troll this mailing list, but this cracked me up!
Sounded like an X-rated inquiry.

Mandrake is a great distro to get started with, and a friend of mine had
good results getting it to run with winex. Debian is my personal
favorite, but you will probably find Mandrake to be a bit more noob
friendly.
