I wonder if we could argue (and im not saying I personally beleive this) but
basically, even though THIS goverment has no plans to censor the internet -
what about the next liberal goverment - can they guarantee that any change
of goverment wont change the filter?

I love the idea and principle of ESOPs but in reality I don't think they
work for Australian web start-ups.
Lets face it, the track record of Australian start-ups selling for millions
is pretty rare. Even if you have a 5 per cent stake in a company that sells
for a five million, you're only
I don't but I think letters arn't worth the effort - that's why companies
have accounts receivable clerks, whose job is literally, is to just ring
hassle and yell.
If you want to send a letter, a polite one reminding them is all you need
and that you will be following up with them x days from now
It looks as though Senator Ludlam's questions, and Conroy's comments have
made Wed's SMH (

Sounds like our protests are becoming more mainstream.

Whether or not they're worth the effort depends, inter alia (I chucked
that one in for the law students :) on the size of the debt, your
intentions re: starting legal proceedings if the debt remains unpaid
and whether or not you think the debtor will act differently once they
receive it. Sure you
Yeah - what Mike said too...

I've been through this a few times in private/public/angel-invested and

formal guff.
My summary would be to digest Phil's words (he nailed it), therefore - defer
and/or take Nicks advice.
I'll just stress/reiterate a few
- The Government wants to ensure that Australian parents can access a
'clean feed' internet service.
According to Conroy the filter will only block 1000 sites, potentially
growing to 10.000 and will predominantly block child pornography. So
if it doesn't block other pornography, gambling,

My thoughts echo some of the others in that there are other ways to
incentivise besides stock options that may be cheaper and simpler to

My advice on this front is the very first thing you do before you make any
sale is invest in getting proper, lawyer-speak terms and conditions drawn
up. If you don't have proper terms and conditions in place then your
contracts are pretty useless and subsequently your ability to recoup any
costs
On that note, being an atheist, I find the amount of religious sites on the
Internet offensive. I trust that the clean feed will filter these out and
protect my children from being brainwashed?
I thought not.
