merchant account at one of the major banks, eWay as the payment gateway,
and Spreedly as the recurring processor and CC database. At the time
Spreedly was selected it had the best support for Australian payment
gateways,

We do a lot of trust set ups for entrepreneurs. To follow on from what
Adrian mentioned, setting these things up are not expensive or
complicated - and the sooner you do them, the less expensive and
complicated they are.

I would hate to see the day that an insurance / car rental company requires
such a background check before leasing out a car / policy.
They already have adequate processes in place to insure a hefty return
should the worst come to pass.

record/points lookup... a police check with be for if they have a criminal
record...
