I use Robin Greatorex Miller (greatorexmiller[at]gmail.com), a one-
woman bookkeeping business. She handles the books for a number of
small businesses I know and she's prompt, efficient, organised and
relatively geek-friendly - she wants a new MacBook Pro as much as you
do. She does my bookkeeping
We use Miss Efficiency as bookkeepers, and they are excellent as well
as very cost-effective.
My accountant last year decided we could use her P&L and Balance Sheet
as is.
They're based in Brisbane but it works just as well across the miles.

complemented by a local accounting firm (Murchisons) who do our tax
returns and end of year financials.

The only thing you need to know is that there is a big difference between a
book keeper and an accountant.
Book keepers are simply doing data entry. You don't need an accounting
background, although it does help once you move into accrual accounting. An
