Would it make sense to pre-condition the coffee filter by running some plain distilled water through it, which you would discard, then filtering the CS? You'd at least get the worst of the solubles out of it before it contacts the product. Mike D. [Mike Devour, Citizen, Patriot, Libertarian]

Sharon- The general consensus here on the list is that the TDS meter does not measure ppm. Do you feel differently about that? Yes I agree. I think its very difficult to correlate silver ions or very small particles with various charge levels to PPM. The whole discussion about TDS and PWT

Hi Mike, It is easy enough to find oxygen bleached filters. I suspect they are cleaner than unbleached. I have never filtered my sol, because Bruce Marx measured some before and after. There is a drop. If it is a charge effect, the fibers are probably getting the smaller particles by

The only way I can find for carbon to enter into a reaction with silver is in conjunction with nitrogen, which is also present dissolved in water exposed to air. In that case you have the elements necessary to make silver cyanide ( AgCN ) and with oxygen silver cyanate ( AgCNO ). Silver
