Hi Marshalee,
Your Pug might have had a hydatid cyst. This is from parasitical worms and is a
sort of worm egg store in the body. Try to keep it scrupulously clean and take
care not to get the stuff on you, for fear of infection. Irrigating with CS
should do it.
Do a search on hydatid cysts and sca
I have a miniature long haired Dachshund who has developed a back problem.
Over a period of about three days she lost the use of her back legs due to a
ruptured disc.
After two weeks of confinement I bought a small round paddling pool, filled
it with enough water to support her and take her ÂŚwalki
Hi Marsha!
Older dogs frequently get benign tumors called histiocytomas(sp??). If they
are on the lower side of the neck, they can interfere with breathing and may
have to be surgically removed. According to my father (the vet), the lump on
our Sheltie(age 10) should not be a problem because it is
Ole Bob,
Thanks for helping me along with my understanding on this (and to Trem
for straightening out the current vs. voltage situation). But are you
saying that the two alternative approachs offer either a limitation on
current by voltage or the other way round, a limitation on voltage by

Trem,
You missed the point. If he is using 110 vdc on one cell, he almost has to be

Hello George,
I find using around 1/8th of a level teaspoon of citric
acid per 2 litres DW produces a high quality CS that is clear and stable.
Voltage can be as low as 1.2-1.5 volts, with a practically flat current
throughout the run. No need for any constant current cir
Bob,
Rightbut no matter how many cells are in series, it's still constant
voltage across any cell or combination of cells.

Trem,
You might be right, but I didn't think anyone used 110 v dc in a single cell.
This one person that lines up 5 one gallon cells in series and uses 110 vdc.

Dear Carl, No need to use any electrolytes at all. Period!
The CS made without them works just fine, and no worry about making any
silver compounds.
Good luck!

Hi Bob,
I think you have it backwards. If Reid's using 110 VDC with no regulation
as I thought he said he was, it's constant voltage not constant current he's
working with.

Hi Reid,
The two low voltage systems are;
1.) Constant voltage like using several 9 volt batteries snapped to gether
and connected to the silver in the brew cell. the voltage across the cell
stays at constant value of the batteries.
2.) Constant current is were there is an electronic regulator i
I believe I understood that the risk in fermenting coconut was with
fermenting the solids, not the milk; and that the temperature of the
fermentation/amount of lipids were also factors in causing the toxicity.
I can't remember it exactly either...time to do a little research! :o)

If you think these lumps are food related, what do you suggest we feed. I
feed raw but maybe the raw food and fat has something to do with it. Any
answers would help, all 5 of my dogs have at least one lump on them.
Thanks
