A good transformer should not hum enough to be annoying. If it does ,then it is of poor quality. That means the iron laminations are too loose and they vibrate in sync. with the current cycles. If your supplier is close, get them to plug in and try them until you get one without the hum.The good on

Yes -- I agree -- it's pretty high all over the US.  But it's pretty amazing that you personally know four people who have it.  So can you please tell me what part of the country you're in?  For one thing, it's an area I'd probably like to avoid.  Second, I had a tick episode myself some time ag

You can get counter top reverse osmosis water filters on eBay for around 100.00, I've found a couple for less than that, and these filter fluoride. They're simple to connect, no under sink plumbing to mess with. Then you could distill the filtered water if you want. Makes sense to me. I've been

The quality of rain water depends on where you live and how long it has rained. Rain water IS distilled water, but the air container it's in can be quite dirty. Rain does tend to rinse it though. Ode At 09:49 AM 5/30/2009 +0200, you wrote: Thanks for that tip, David. that's one reason I
