I believe that 9 (5 9's) silver is actually 99.999% pure. 999 silver is not really pure enough because it is only 99.9% pure leaving as much as 1/10 of 1% for impurities. When it comes to cadmium and stuff like that 1/10 of 1% is a lot. Your coins are just fine at .999 if it is 99.999%. Michae
