Who here has IMAP sync with Exchange working?
If so, is there anything special that has to be done to make it work?

Yes, it should work.

I think you have already answered the question. It's XMPP, which is an open
standard and what openfire is based on.
Yahoo doesn't speak that, so you use a Kraken plugin to openfire to achieve
this. I think you'll want to check out the docs at www.igniterealtime.org.

Does the current s2s Federation work with AIM or Yahoo? If so what is
the magic key?
Seems to work fine with gmail -- which, of course, is xmpp

TLS works for SIP trunking using sipXbridge. TLS from the proxy to the
phones or for inter-proxy trunking is very close, but did not get finished
in the last iteration. I don't have a date on it right now, but it is high
on the priority list.

check your LAN Network settings, and/or aliases.

So far its only the ACD I can see that is failing.

I have it disabled on my poly, and can make internet calls.
if you enable internet calling, you get the SIP URL of the ITSP as the
inbound caller id.

Let me ask you, since sipX sees the IM ID as an alias of the users and
if the IM ID was the same as an LDAP/AD user, would sipX try to use LDAP

Aside from this issue and it's dependent and associated issues, I could
