When I check Instant Messaging Authentication in the Authentication
Settings of the LDAP Configuration section, and restart the IM Service, I
get this error in the /var/log/sipxpbx/openfire/error.log:

George,
Once you pointed out where the config file was, I was able to goto line 33 and
see what it was:
I just realized that my LDAP admin user's password has an in it. I saw
some bugs on openfire about that. I changed the LDAP password to remove
symbols, and I think that fixed the

Always, always update with yum after install from ISO.
ISO is only rebuilt if there is a change to the installation routine.
We probably should have put some text to that effect on the last page of
the installation in 4.4.

Tony,
In most cases the faxes were delivered to the users in PDF format without
issue. There were many times when the faxes came in with zero pages and in
tiff format. I can only state our experience.
I worked with IIPS regarding the configuration on the AudioCodes and ATA
devices. The
Thank you Tony..
Well, The FTP backup seems to be broken on sipx .. We have tried 3
different FTP servers ( Microsoft, QNAP and fileZilla) and in all cases the
connection was established but no writting occured untill the connection is
timed out on the FTP.. We are currently on sipXecs(4.4.0-
No. I put that in the file manually. But I think you misunderstand FTP
backup a little bit...
It really be more or less of an issue with the backup FTP server and how
you are (or might be) restricted behind a firewall. In the larger sense,
FTP works fine for me except there is a memory leak when
I updated my software with yum, and now my phone won't register :(
Here is the line from the /var/log/sipxpbx/sipxregistrar.log

auth hash does not match (bad password?)
I can confirm that I have servers that backup via FTP each week without
issue. I'd check your firewall.

did you send the server its profiles and restart services?

Has anyone else come across this running a recent version of
4.4.0? When I say recent, I'm referring to update #15, as
that's the latest we're running in production. I didn't see
anything in the release notes for update #16 that would
indicate that this was something that was fixed, though.
Very good details Tony .. Am not positive if this would be a F/W issue as I
was able to send a config file from SIPX to the FTP server and it worked
just fine:
ftp put configuration.tar.gz
local: configuration.tar.gz remote: configuration.tar.gz

Tony,
It was the send the profile to phone that I missed. I guess I didn't think of
it, because I didn't think anything had changed. But now I know :)

Usually the server will send profiles do all of the device if upgrade is
done.
