increase sambas logging verbosity off the top of my head it goes from 1 to 15 15 is quite ridiculous and 5 is generally considered ideal for debugging however when ive had wierd problems with domains ive needed to go higer than 5 so much that i pretty much drop straight to 15 when i have problems

I'm assuming you've read the iwconfig man page, but in case you haven't you do an "iwconfig channel ". Are you getting a 'not implemented/supported' error when you try and do that command? I've found that with my card if you just set the SSID it'll automatically change the channel of the card
