[SLUG] updated kernel causing problems

Hi all, Running centos 6.x After an update and reboot, the system hangs during startup mid way loading services... If I reboot again and get to grub I can select the previous kernel and then it all boots correctly. What do I edit to make the previous kernel the default kernel upon bootup?

Apologies for the top posting (beyond my control with this client). If you remove the new kernel, CentOS will clean up the grub config file for you. Use yum erase kernel* to get a complete list of installed kernels and say no to proceed. Find the version number of the kernel you want to erase
