get Mandrake up on my system. Thanks to everyone who gave advise over
the past couple of weeks. I'm sure I'll be annoying you all for a

Matthew came up with the idea that it may be to do with accent
characters, such that the drivers were allowing me to put in accents
like é!
This IS the problem, but neither of us know how to fix it. lol
Any ideas?

Still having problems with the dependencies.
In answer to various questions, I'm using:
rpm -Uvh xchatblahblahblah as my command to execute the program. I
believe this is 'verbose' mode, as has been questioned of me a couple of
times.

I already have a 'program' installed (but not working) and want to
re-install it, I come across an error saying 'program already exists'.

Got XChat up and running, and an ICQ clone.
Dunno exactly what happened, but it seemed to work itself out. Proably
was having teh right CD.
