[sussex_mug] iOS 5 and battery life

2011-10-14 Thread Philippe Chandless
After 24 hours with iOS 5 I'm very happy with it except that my battery seems to drain away really fast. Has anyone else noticed this? I've checked my settings and nothings changed and everything that I don't need (e.g.. Bluetooth) is switched off. Philippe -- You received this message becau

No I haven't, and I'm something of a poweruser. Battery usage doesn't seem any differnt (so far!) Have you set up icloud? Could be sending data more than before maybe? Or even backing the device up to icloud, though I think that only happens if it's plugged in to power. Regards Russell -

Just finished installing it - as people have been saying, patience pays off (and doing it at 6.30 in the morning). One strange one though. I kept getting this error message - Apple ID could not be created because of a server error Then I went back and instead of putting in my birthday (i.e. 10th

But that's really sloppy - especially for Apple - because they don't ask for your date of birth. Rob - Rob Beattie Freelance writer and book author www.robbeattie.com 07769 902820 Twitter: @robbeattie On 14 October 2011 10:03, Phil Tomlinson wrote: > Yep they're after your date

You still get asked if the content you're buying is flagged as age restricted. They possibly also use it as some form of verification for account and payment purposes. Alastair On Fri, Oct 14, 2011 at 10:12, Russell Brown wrote: > Yes, that's why I thought they asked for it. > > Though interest

My point though is that they're asking the wrong question. If someone asks me when my birthday is they'll get one answer. If they ask for my date of birth, they'll get another. It was the only thing in the setup process that confused me. Rob - Rob Beattie Freelance writer and book

I just looked at this and there is a catch - As a Free personal user you get 50GB but you can't sync file with your main computer (desktop/ laptop) it only works with iPad and iPhone, unless you pay $15 per month for the business version. File size is limited to 1 or 2GB depending on the option. Wi
