one to choose between icon and embedded attachments, and is easy to use.

I have a MacBook pro with lion, it's just over a year old.
In the last 24 hours it's come to a virtual standstill. Everything takes 5
minutes to complete, never seen anything like it since I was on windows 10
years ago.
Activity monitor shows nothing over 15% and only briefly. With all program

pdf or jpeg, perhaps you should convert it (for instance in preview)? As I
understand it, Apple changed with OS X from quickdraw to using pdf as the
standard screen description language.

Thanks, Sam. I had tried it without success. I have tried it again, using both
dragging and copy/paste. The image size(bottom right hand corner) is set to
actual size, it appears correctly if received in emailers other than Apple
Mail. Changing the image size makes no difference. I am using Mail
When you drag the attachment in, look at the bottom right of the window and
select Actual Size from the attachment size menu.
