Whew! Just got back from SmaC combat contest...I had lots of fun.
First off, it's nice to be able to put faces on some of the names that I
see hear. Btw, I was the guy in the black Quake cap flying a silver DAW
P-51 with a checkered nose.
The combat flying itself was fast an furious (some migh
What might I use as a filler on a foam wing that is as LIGHT as possible,
has some strength, but still truly 'shape-able', and 'sand-able'??
This wing will be film covered directly over the foam, so I need something
that I can really smooth out well to cover various cavities in the wing

Hello out there, I am about to skin a set of blue cell cores with
obechi using epoxy. Is there any special tricks that I should know
about, like sealing the obechi, or what type of glass should I use on
the trailing edge of the wing when I create a book with mylar for vac

JR is the only one I know of that wanted to be different than all the others.
Futaba and Airtronics are the same.

Rich, glad to hear you are still hanging in there with hand launch. It does
get easier. After my first year of hand launch I thought I was getting
pretty good, because I flew sometimes five times a week. The next year I
improved even more. And this year I am getting even better, not bragging,

This is one of the first porportional radios for our hobby.
If you have one working or not let me know off line. Its for a friend who
can't fly anymore but likes to futz with old systems now.
Thanks

I neglected to mention in my previous note that I have been charging
packs from 50 mAh to 1200 mAh four and five cell (receiver) packs, 500
to 1100 mAh eight cell (transmitter) packs and 1700 to 2000 mAh seven
and eight cell (motor) packs with my TRC 2D. I have no problems with
the charger or bat
The spec of the TRC 2D in NiCd mode is indeed 4c, however when switched
to NiMH mode, it is set for 2c. I keep mine set in NiMH mode all the
time, even when charging NiCds. I do like the lower rate for charging
radio batteries. Anyway, the charge rate is set by a dial, so you can
set the charge
For sale 118 inch Shadow, this is a great thermal plane to take an
intermediate flier to an Advanced flier. I put it togeather in 1991 and
flew it for four years, and it has been sitting in my garage since.
The fuse has never been painted and it has two small stress cracks, not bad
enough to fix

Fessin up to NATS Terrible Crashing Streak
I crashed and smashed four models at the 99 NATS. Here is my sad story.
In Sport Scale my Baby Albatross was performing flight maneuvers when
suddenly it went in with some kind of radio problem.
In F3J I got a good launch and was climbing in a ther
