Hobby Shack made a power pod for their Spirit of 76 2 meter glider. It was
a streamlined plastic thing with plywood reinforcement. I was made for an
.049, and had a place in the pod for a small fuel tank. You might want to
check hobbypeople.net and see if its still avaialble.

Why don't we see V-tails with all moving tailplanes? If v-tails are so much

Hi Gang,
Looking for a new or used Peregrine fuse, had a little accident at our
contest yesterday. After the event I got to fly my brand new Stork
four or five times. Wow! Thanks to Jim B. it was dialed in very
close, what an impressive glider Thanks

I got a metric wing rod for a large European scale
model from Dave Squires a couple of
years ago. I think his stuff is now distributed
Actually the onus lies on all. Under AMA safety rules, and I'd suspect
the concept holds true with other underwriters, we are responsible to,
"not knowingly operate a radio controlled aircraft within three miles
of an operating flying site without a frequency use agreement," or
something close in
Last year I heard about someone developing a "radio control" system that was
actually not radio, but IR control instead.
It was supposed to have a range of around 500 to 1000 ft.
I think this would be the solution to the slow fly/park flyer situation.

Gents,
I thought that the following exchange might be of general interest to the
group. This arose from an article I published on Michael Shellim¹s
excellent website for RC soaring: http://www.rc-soar.com/tech/spiral.htm.
Fran Miller asked Michael Shellim the question below, and
Here are some ideas...
One time a fellow on RCSE suggested using Ejector Pins.
Following that, I bookmarked this website for ejector pins, but I have
never tried them. http://www.ntm.com/products.asp
You could check with the fellows who import European models, such as:
Cruciform tail perhaps? (stab mounted somewhat up on the rudderpost instead
of to the fuse under it).

In many cases it is a normal cruciform tail that was misaligned during
construction Seen some good ones over the years.

Actually it says right at the bottom of the page that "IR is not conducive to outdoor

I would like to trade out my wooden push-rods for a pull pull system in my

There is an even easier way to program spoilerrons. I'm assuming that you
have two aileron servos and a separate elevator servo. Use the Butterfly
section. Now on one screen you can have two different spoilerron settings

Most park fliers I've ever seen do not come with radiosthey are models
just like any other kit, and there would be no way to limit people as far
as what type of radio they use. Somehow I doubt that the AMA would jump in
to try and restrict the idustry anyway. I realize you are talking
