If the wing is properly seated in the fuse saddle, then it would
take a good hit just to shear 2 #4-40 nylon screws, which are better mounted
at LE and TE. But you do a lot of landing flying HLG, so learn to do them
soft and supress all urges to turn around when flying downwind and low.
Paul, have you stood on the edge while a 3 metre
ship grooves past your face at 200km plus ?
..it really grabs your attention.

This is what had me puzzled. Four 6-32's shouldn't be that stressed (I could have
used 4-40's, but they didn't "look right"). No gap between the wing bottom and the
fuse mount: across the fuse, there are 1/2" wide ply plates at the dihedral angle
where the bolts are, so the wing fits
Just wanted to say thanks to all of that responded with suggestions on my
first full house ship. I received 12 replies, all of which recommended a
different ship. The good news is that a lot of the replies listed ships I
hadnt looked at yet, so that was great. Many people told me I should

I'm always amazed that Sal can even deal with email. I don't know why he
bothers to show the [EMAIL PROTECTED] address - he never answers it. I've asked a
couple of questions, querried about orders, asked to be notified upon
shipment, things like that, and I've NEVER recieved a response. Ever.
I ordered an Orion 2M from NSP a month ago in order to have a plane to take
to on vacation with me to Maui. In typical style, NSP took a couple of
weeks to ship it and it arrived too late to go with me. So I actually
bought a another plane on RCSC had it sent to Maui and flew it for two

Also, have a look at http://www.fatlion.com/sailplanes/weights.html
Here's a table of materials weights from a couple years back. You'll find
that batch-to-batch weights of Monokote and other plastic coverings varies a

Ben,
How many years you have been married? ;-)
Sad, sad story, so I better give you all a laugh at my expense to maybe
brighten your day. This is the story of the Hera (euro version) that would
