Jerry, As you know, I do not like skegs. Usually stopping in less than an inch travel, skegs give a severe shock to the sailplane and hard mounted electronics. I know of three competition sailplanes and one prominent contestant that have been physicaly damaged (or injured) this year caused by

Right Joe its something like that. If your smiley has a BNC connector or sometimes called a bayonet connector or mount, then you use the terminator. The terminator is what's used in cable networks to plug unused ends to load the cable for continuity. Any good electronics store should have

In line with the discussion on rubber duckies...we witnessed a rubber duckie being taken out (along with the pilot) during the warbird races at the Midwest Slope Challenge this past weekend! An errant foamie warbird (perhap two) nailed the antenna and broke it off along with part of the radio!
