Hi Gang, Once again, another great day in Redmond, WA for Hand Launch fun! 11 folks showed up for the fun, with a few familiar faces missing (vacations, etc.) and some fresh new faces too! The weather dealt a pretty good wind out of the North and Northwest, which blew the thermals down the

[RCSE] Launch Technique

2002-07-24 Thread Jim Monaco
Here is a question… Most of the top fliers launch by holding the plane at the front – watch Daryl, Joe, or Skip. I’ve tried this a couple of times and don’t feel like I have very good control. I generally hold the plane behind the wing. Is there a significant value to launching from the front

I'm building a Grand Esprit from the Dream Catcher short kit. (http://www.dchobby.com) I've got a couple of questions if anyone else has built one of these and wouldn't mind helping out for a couple of minutes. First, the W5 ribs only come up to the top of the spar. After the sheeting it put

I have an AstroFlight 110D charger, which has served me well for a couple of years. I've just tried to charge a dead battery, but charging won't begin because of the absence of current in the cells. Is there any way to fool the charger into beginning the charge cycle? Joe Parsons

Title: composite strengths and buckling This reminds me of some fraternity silliness that we used to do in college to demonstrate "column failure in compression". Place an empty aluminum beer can on the floor. Stand on it carefully. It will support your weight. (Maybe except for

2002-07-24 Thread Mark Miller
I heard of someone awhile back here in RCSE building a Grand Esprit short kit from DC hobbies and the ribs were not right in some manner. DC Hobbies made new ribs and replaced them. I sould suggest you call them and see if they will send ribs that fit. There are no cap strips on the Grand Esprit.
