Hello, I am putting together a shop. I have a very strong ex-kitchen island which is now mounted on eight HD casters. It's 2' x 7' long (.61m x 2.1m). would like to secure to it a 3.5' x 8' (1m x 2.4m) top as it has no top right now. What should I mount on it and how does one go about making sure

When I attended the F3J Team trials last year they scanned 50 and 53 mhz.  I have never been shot down on the Ham bands.  There are a few repeaters in the Ohio area around the 53.800 range.  Check the ARRL repeater directory if your not sure.   Jeff

Hi Doug, The 50 MHz band is open if you   have a HAM license. the CD's at contests are supposed to check on the entries that are on HAM bands. The HAM's have several frequencied that they can broadcast on but they shouldn't be on our freq. band. Best regards, Art  KG6J. - Original Message -

Yes, I realize you "can" scan all the frequencies, But was told at most contest sites where "they" scan the frequencies, they very seldom, if ever, scan the ham bands...Just what I was told..I have no first hand knowledge or experience along this line..This fact or fiction does not bother me...Bria

Hi Bill... I was told by several dealers that Airtronics was going out of the Ham business, parts and service before long would be none existent, and at big events they scan the 72 mhz freqs for problems, but not the ham bands.. I was actually told by one dealer it was a waste of money...Brian Sm
