Folks,
This is a public service announcement..
Toledo for 2005 will be April 1,2,3.
The Sailplane section of the show, although well represented well, could be bolstered with more support.
If you live in, near, or are planning to go to Toledo, PLEASE, enter a sailplane in the show, then stop by

Plan is to fly at CASA field, Rockville, MD. with a 3 M
Scooter. Please clarify the 3 min rule. Is this a
three minute ladder? Or is the rule literally: Next flight must
exceed "previous flight by" at least "3
minutes". I.e., if first flight is 7 m 30 s., the next must
be 10m 30s tomove
I now can offer plans for this most obscure and secret of the X planes.
We have just finished 1:6 scale plans (114 or 2.9m) for the Schweizer

planes of the Vietnam war era. Laser cut plywood and balsa parts kits
including two

Sadly, this past August, Schweizer Aircraft has been sold to Sikorsky
Aircraft corp. This, ironically following the death of Paul Schweizer,
one of the founding brothers. Paul did not live to see the deal
consummated, and perhaps it is just. He was the visionary, the practical
engineer, and the
This will be the only price change.
I have a very nice JR 10 X tx only for sale.
This has been my primary tx for 2 1/2 yrs. It has never missed a beat and has just been into Horizon service for a check up prior to being put up for sale. It is in pristene condition.
The reason for selling is
From what you wrote to begin with, I think a Big Bird
would be a nice model. I haven't built nor owned one,
but flew one. I thought it flew nicely, and it meets
your criteria.
Best of luck,

Flew my new Escape Lt X-tail for the first time today (it came out at 68
oz). What a great first day on a plane. It lived up to all my expectations
and more. So now my Pike Superior Lt X-tail (76 oz) will have to move over
to back up.

Fellow fliers,
I'm looking to build a RES ship to fly in our local club contests. While doing a Google search, I ran across the Majestic 110" RES from Laser Arts.
Question: has anyone had any experience with this kit - pros or cons? Flying characteristics?
ThanksDan

Hi Craig
I could be wrong but I believe you have a SL not an Lt. On the Samba site
they show the SL V-tail at 1900 gr. (67 oz.) the Lt X-tail they show at 2140
gr. (75.5 oz)

Some info on improvements:
I love my Pike Superior and have been flying it for 2 yrs. But it's really
hard to find a molded X-tail, with a strong wing below 10 oz wing loading
(the Escape is at 9.4) and especially that can be ballasted. Most of the

Yep My Pike is strong as an Ox. One of the reasons is the Lt. has a all
carbon center panel. It is a stiff plane and it is defiantly a consistent
winner with expert or intermediate which can't be said about a lot of
planes.
