[RCSE] Digital Scale Accuracy

2002-03-18 Thread Brad Willoughby
Builders, I'm looking into getting a digital scale and I've noticed that the price varies by accuracy (in general). What kind of accuracy is needed for hand-launch building? Is 1 gram enough? .1 gram? .01 gram? How about capacity? 100 grams? 1000 grams? 1 grams? Thanks, Brad

[RCSE] Receiver recommendations

2001-10-19 Thread Brad Willoughby
RCSE'rs, Now that I'm back in the States, I'm going to need to stock up on 72mhz receivers. I sold all my 35mhz stuff when I left Scotland and currently only have 1 Multiplex IPD receiver on 72mhz. Basically, I need RX's to use with my MultiPlex Profi mc3030 transmitter in the following planes:

Bill, I've got to say QFI (Quiet Flight International) is the best soaring magazine out there - hands down. The only problem is that it only comes out every 2 months. ;) Cheers, Brad in Edinburgh, Scotland > Date: Fri, 21 Sep 2001 08:07:13 -0500 > From: Bill Kuhl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "'[

2001-06-30 Thread Brad Willoughby
RCSE'rs, I'm beginning to think about my trip back from Scotland to California coming up in September. I seem to have accumulated more sailplanes since I arrived here last October - not sure how that happened - but I'll need a way to get them back. ;) Any suggestions for a ready-made case or bo

[RCSE] Mentholated Spirit?

2001-05-10 Thread Brad Willoughby
I'm working on fiberglassing a wing and was told to use "Mentholated Spirit" to thin out the epoxy by 40-50% on the final, finishing coat. I've been looking at my local hardware stores, but the closest I can find is "White Spirit" which looks and smells like your standard, everyday paint thinner.

Anybody know about AMD's Cyclone wingeron slope ship? They ran an add in the latest S&E Modeler and it looks good on paper and on the site. Just seeing if anybody has any experience with AMD or with the Cyclone. The site is at: http://www.amd.org.hk/ and the Cyclone page is at: http://www.amd.
