The annual Misty Meadows Soaring Classic contest in Solon Iowa will be held May
3rd and 4th 2008. Classes will be 2-meter, RES and Unlimited. Unlimited will be
flown both days (separate contests). New this year are:

The 2009 World Games (WAG) to be held in Turin Italy is going to include three
aeromodeling events. The three RC classes are Artistic Aerobatics, Indoor
Musicals and Hand-Thrown Gliders. These are not the regular FAI classes but
rather events in the FAI Airsport Promotion Classes F6A, F6B and
Anybody out there flying a full carbon Pike Perfect on JR 50MHZ? I
would be interested to know what receiver antenna placements seem to
work or not.

Misty Meadows is near Solon Iowa which is between Iowa City and Cedar
Rapids. On a larger scale it is 200 miles west of Chicago, 250 miles
north of St. Louis and 300 miles south of Minneapolis.

We had terrific weather both days for the meet this year and
a good turnout. I am often asked why I have the contest so early in the season when
the weather is unpredictable, to say the least, in the upper Midwest. The
reason is I have most of the site property in a government conservation

I have used a similar method but used liquid expandable foam you can get
in hardware stores for sealing up holes. I cascade soda straws together
to get the foam at the locations I want pushrod support. The trick is
flowing in the correct amount of foam so as not to overdo it. You don't

I have been flying Escapes for several years now and have V-tail,
X-tail and electric versions. The Escape certainly is one of the top F3J and
unlimited models available today and the quality is second to none. The tip
