Very nice post Tom.
Just a few things to add.
I've seen a misconception about the .DXF outputs for airfoil templa

Hey Tom,
If you're going to the CASA Open this wknd, and if you've got the parts in
stock; could you please bring along a set of shafts/pins and a gearset for
the Volz Wing Starr servo?
Thanks,

Rick,
Regardless of your personal motor/athletic skills, application of launch
force behind the cg of airplane, HL to UL is a BAD idea. It creates an
unstable flight condition and places the airframe in an awkwardly loaded
position.
With an aft of cg HL throw, as soon as you release the forw

Hey guys,
Here's a rough compilation of NATs results, basically top tens of each
comp.
Note: Some of these may not be totally accurate, trying to use what's left of
my memory. :-)

Hey guys,
A friend forwarded this message to me, I guess he thought I wouldn't see it
on my own from RCSE. I'm not sure why he sent it to me, but after reading it
a few times, I thought I'd throw in my two cents worth.

Hey all,
What's the 'standard' line size used for launching F3j and F3b?
I'm pretty sure F3b is 150 or 200lb mono.
But what about F3j? I seem to recall an FAI limit on line diameter/size, and
for some reason 70# mono sticks in my head.
This question came up this eve. when talking about line siz
Guys, guys, guys
It's a relatively simple explanation. I may be totally wrong (Manufacturing
work for 7year may have my AE schooling a bit rusty), but one of the initial
posts on this thread had this "phenomenon" explained.
Condition 1: Glider is flying along in a steady state, dead
Hey Guys,
Does using masking tape on waxed mylars produce any adverse effects?
I'd like to prepaint the mylars and get some nice sharp lines instead of the
standard spray paint "fade". Will masking tape leave any unwanted 'sticky'
residue on pre-waxed mylars.
Thanks,
Tom

Hey John,
A *crazy* friend of mine did this.
Since he happened to own a bike shop, spare parts weren't a problem.
Instead of using the standard anemometer style cups though, he cut up an old
HL wing and mounted it as a windmill, approx. 40" diameter. The bike
computer sensor was mounted to the
Hey everybody,
This is for those familiar with the Sierra 2.5.
I'm slowly nearing completion, pushrods and wing servos remain to be done,
and I'm wondering if anyone experienced with this plane has a CG
recommendation. I could build per the plans (the smart thing) but I tend to
prefer an aft
