Today, we (Dick Hanson & I) range tested Spektrum in
the air. The Spektrum receiver was installed in my
power plane on throttle only, the rest was controlled

Those little bumps are caused by cutter knife. They
are ripped from the other side. The veneer is cut from
log while rotating. It's much easier to sand off those
bumps (which may adds up to maybe 1% of surface) than
try to sand smooth the other side with dings. Thus
bumps side outside.

Russ, you're not crazy!! I fly Mode 1 too and there is no doubt on my mind and on minds of another 85% of all RC fliers around the globe who also fly Mode 1 that Mode 1 is superior to Mode 2.
