[RCSE] flying-wing/elevon?

2001-01-14 Thread Ciurpita, Greg
while thinking about flight dynamics and airfoils, it dawned on me that elevons on a flying wing, such as my daw me-163 komet, don't really function aerodynamically like elevators. the stabilizer/elevator counteracts the moment-force of a cambered wing, which typically causes the plane to pitch

I WANT to try Bowman's JW airfoil, but no one on this exchange has been forthcoming with the coordinates. :( This site shows a flying wing airfoil (5010), it might help. http://www.lerc.nasa.gov/Other_Groups/K-12/airplane/wrong1.html I am unsure as to how much washout I should plan to

The DAW Schweizer 1-26 you are currently flying is a rather nice versatile slope glider when properly trimmed (especially if the glider has been built with ailerons and reduced dihedral of about 2 degrees). If the glider was built with rudder/elevator and standard recommended polyhedral it

[RCSE] Flying wing?

Can anyone give some advice on foam flying wings? I am learning to fly with a DAW S1-26 (2m.) but I have trouble every time I try to fly in moderate winds. Is there a wing that is beginner-proof, easy to fly and penetrates better than my sloper?. Should I get a foam 60" racer (Enigma or similar)
