[RCSE] Spirit Elite

I have a friend that would like to get into soaring, and can get a new Elite CHEAP. I am sure that this is a well warmed over issue, as I have seen threads about this plane of the regular Spirit before. Can someone still give me some advice on this plane? Will it take mild winch launches?
